Police need your help to track down a drug offender with a penchant for theft and robbery and a long rap sheet.
Felon and multi-state offender Melvin Morgan Sullivant, 34, earned his first felony conviction in 1991 with an arrest for first-degree burglary. He was incarcerated in the Oregon State Penitentiary in 1992, 1995 and 1999.
He has had additional arrests and convictions for second-degree robbery; possession, delivery and manufacture of a controlled substance (methamphetamine); first-degree theft; second-degree theft and possession of a restricted weapon, as well as numerous arrests for parole violations.
Because he has again failed to comply with the terms of his parole, a no-bail felony warrant has been issued by the Oregon State Parole and Probation Board.
Sullivant is described as a white male adult, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds with shaved or balding brown hair and brown eyes. He has a snake tattoo on his upper left arm, multiple tattoos on his left forearm, a bulldog tattoo on his left calf, the word Sullivant tattooed on the middle finger of his left hand, and a heart and chain tattooed on his left ankle.
He also is blind in his left eye. Sullivant may be using the aliases of Chris Redmond, Frank Bowersmith, Morgan Sullivan, Melvin Scott Sullivant, or Melvin Charles Sullivant. The picture shown in today's newspaper, taken July 19, is the most recent photo available.
If you see Sullivant, or have information of his whereabouts, please call Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon at 800-3-DETECT (800-333-8328) and refer to case No. MT-179.
