The Heart of The Home

Built in 1917, this Applegate cabin had only 1,600 square feet, a small footprint by today's standards. Even though the original massive stone fireplace and log walls bring forth a western design, the homeowner's decorating style can only be described as eclectic. Pieces of art from all over the world decorate the mantel as well as the hearth of this charming cabin.

With the temperatures still dipping into the 30s and 40s, nothing quite compares to sitting in front of a roaring fireplace. But not just any fireplace. Southern Oregon homeowners have designed and created fireplaces and hearths that speak to their home design as well as to their comfort and aesthetic soul. These are a few of our favorites that we've featured over the years.
