Glendale eases by Challengers

GLENDALE — Glendale point guard Gretchen Owen just missed a quadruple-double, scoring 24 points to go with 14 rebounds, 10 steals and nine assists in the 52-37 victory over Cascade Christian in a nonconference girls basketball game Monday night.

Kierstin Barlow had team-highs of 11 points and nine boards for the Challengers. Chelsea Cason chipped in with eight points and drained two of Cascade Christian's three 3-pointers.

PHOENIX 66, YREKA 49 — Yreka, Calif., Mike Shepherd had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Andrew George netted a game-high 19 points to help Phoenix (2-1) overcome a slim halftime deficit to Yreka.

The Pirates limited Yreka to six points in the third period to pull ahead.

ROGUE VALLEY ADVENTIST 47, MILO ADVENTIST 31 — At Days Creek, Tyler Robinson poured in 17 points and corralled 10 rebounds to help Rogue Valley Adventist roll past Milo Adventist.

Ryan Coggins contributed 10 points and 11 boards for the Red Tail Hawks (2-1), who received 10 points, five assists and three rebounds from Ryan Cool.

The Red Tailed Hawks pulled down 16 offensive rebounds.
