  • Now that Christmas is over, what do you do with the tree? Several organizations are offering to pick them up for donations.
    Medford, Gold Hill and Rogue River
    Members of Moose Family Center 178 will conduct their 44th annual Christmas Tree Lift from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 5 and 6. The public can schedule a pickup by calling 855-1235 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Donations will be accepted.
    This year, donations will go to Dogs for the Deaf, 10175 Wheeler Road, Central Point, and to Gold Hill's after-school program at Patrick Elementary to help provide scholarships for families who cannot afford the monthly fee. The program is designed to provide recreational enrichment and educational support for children.
    Talent
    Talent Scout Troop 535 will pick up discarded Christmas trees for Talent residents Jan. 5. Residents are asked to remove all tree stands and metal and place trees on the curbside by 10 a.m. Jan. 5 to assure pickup. Donations are appreciated.
    Phoenix
    The Boy Scouts will pick up trees in the Phoenix area on Jan. 5. Residents are asked to remove all ornaments and decorations and place trees in a visible spot. Donations will be accepted.
