Debris and power lines on the road have closed Highway 140, the route to Klamath Falls, this morning.
State transportation officials reported they closed the road at milepost 22.5, 23 miles from its intersection with Highway 62 in White City, as a storm swept in with high winds and heavy mountain snows.
Also this morning, ski managers at Mount Ashland say they have decided to close the ski area, which has been hit by blizzard-like weather, for the day.
Chain restrictions continue for travelers over the Siskiyou Summit on Interstate 5. The freeway in California is open again after a partial closure Thursday, but officials advise against traveling it.
The National Weather Service on Thursday issued a blizzard warning for parts of Siskiyou County, warning it could receive 2 to 4 feet of snow at elevations of 3,000 feet and higher.
