Shelley Green Award

The Rogue Valley Soccer Club and Rogue Valley Cup Soccer Assoc. Inc. are pleased to announce the presentation of the Annual Shelley Green Award. The award will be presented Saturday evening, May 24th at 7 PM in the North High School Auditorium to the U-14 boy and U-14 girl who best represent the legacy of Shelley Green. That legacy was described by Shelley's parents Dave and Lee Ann and by Dick Darcy and Dave Potter, two of her coaches, as THE PLAYER WHO DEMONSTRATES "A LOVE FOR THE GAME OF SOCCER".

This is not intended to be a Most Valuable Player award. Shelley was a defender who worked hard on her own, practicing, attending her brother's games and other soccer games because she just plain loved the game. Soccer was her number one sport without question.

This is not an award necessarily for the leading goal scorer or the best athlete. It is given to the player(s) who has a true love and dedication to the game of soccer on and off the field. These players will hopefully continue their love for the game after high school and beyond as a player and a coach.
