The Mt. Ashland Association has named Vanya Carlson director of development. Carlson has more than 10 years' experience in fundraising and development. She began her career raising money for the Children's Miracle Network at Rogue Valley Medical Center and has worked on several major capital campaigns for RVMC and Three Rivers Community Hospital.

She will work to establish annual fundraising programs that include corporate sponsorships, planned giving, grants, youth scholarship fund drives, membership development and capital campaigns for Mount Ashland facility improvements.

Carlson has lived in Southern Oregon since 1994 and earned a business administration degree with a minor in psychology from Southern Oregon University in 1996.

Southern Oregon University graduate Michael J. Thibault has been named co-chairman of the Commission on Wartime Contracting by congressional Democrats.

Thibault is a director at Navigant Consulting Inc. He has 34 years' experience in government contract accounting, pricing, subcontract audit, federal contract compliance, regulatory compliance, cost accounting standards and internal control systems audits and implementation. Prior to joining NCI, Thibault spent 31 years with the Defense Contract Audit Agency and was the DCAA deputy director from 1994-2005. Thibault earned a business degree at SOU and a master's in management from Central Michigan University.


Diane Adams has joined the Medford office of RE/MAX Realty Group. She was formerly with RE/MAX Equity Group and has been a real estate agent for 30 years. Adams is a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club and holds GRI and ABR designations. She graduated from the University of Hawaii. Her specialty is in residential home sales and new custom residential construction. She can be reached at 941-0110.

Providence Medical Group has added Christina Hansel and Steven Correa to its medical staff. Hansel graduated from Nova Southeastern College of Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and works at PMG-Medford Family Practice. In addition, she is medical director of palliative care, doing inpatient consultations for hospice patients, hospice home visits and outpatient palliative care consultations.

Correa is an interventional cardiologist, specializing in all areas of noninvasive cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment. He comes to PMG-Cardiology from the University of Nevada School of Medicine where he was an assistant professor of medicine in cardiovascular disease. Correa earned his medical degree from OHSU in Portland and completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at University of California-Davis Medical Center.

Joseph Rayburn, Farmers Insurance agent of Medford, has been inducted into the Farmers' Topper Club as one of the company's top sales producers. He was recognized for outstanding sales achievements in 2007.


Pacific Retirement Services has named Brian T. Young executive administrator at Cascade Manor in Eugene. A graduate of the University of Oregon, Young is returning to Eugene after serving four years as executive administrator of PRS affiliate Trinity Terrace in Fort Worth, Texas.

Young is a product of Pacific Retirement's Administrator-in-Training program, where he was a management analyst at the Medford headquarters. Young earned a finance and marketing degree from U of O. He also served as a chief warrant officer, battalion budget officer and rotary wing aviator in the Army. He earned an Army Commendation Medal for superior service.

Young succeeds James Munn, who is moving to Seattle to be the executive administrator of Mirabella.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Southern Oregon has named three community members to its board: Rich Hieb, senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, PremierWest Bank; Gloria Schell, regional president for Southern Oregon and Northern California, U.S. Bank; and Don Skundrick, director of material sales, Southern Oregon division, Knife River Corp.

Gina Clyburn, formerly with Maximum Equity Home Loans, has joined the staff of Cox, Beard, Hall & Associates LLC. Clyburn has been in the mortgage industry for 12 years. She has been originating home loans for the past five years. She can be reached at 773-3131 or 944-8551.
