Readers' Choice voters, who named 4 Daughters Irish Pub the Rogue Valley's best bar/pub/lounge, no doubt rewarded the watering hole for its low-key atmosphere and its adventurous beer selections.

"I just like working at a pub that I would actually go to," said General Manager Trevor Rogers.

4 Daughters, located at 126 W. Main St. in Medford, hosts live music five nights a week and eschews a cover charge for all shows. Those who want to escape the sometimes raucous music and dancing downstairs can seek refuge in the spacious upstairs lounge, featuring leather chairs, a fireplace and two pool tables.

Rogers said the pub prides itself on its ever-changing beer selection. The pub recently scored a barrel of Deschutes' "The Dissident," a rare brew the company shipped to only two places outside of Portland. The pub is open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to at least 11 p.m., and to at least 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
