animal kingdom — on a smaller scale
Kids' yoga is similar to adult yoga, though poses and movements are catered to children's shorter attention spans, smaller stature and love of animals.

Downward-facing dog becomes a puppy, for example, and poses that allow free movement, like the butterfly and hot-air balloon, are favored over more stationary postures.

Child's pose: Kneel on the ground, sit on the heels and bend the trunk of the body over the knees, extending the hands outward and laying the chest on the thighs.

Butterfly pose: Sit on the floor with soles of feet together and let knees move up and down like butterfly wings.

Tree pose: Stand with arms overhead and breathe slowly while waving arms.

Frog pose: Squat down with hands in front of feet, hold for five to six seconds and hop!

Eaglet pose: Stand on one leg while maintaining a "regal" appearance, bring one leg over the other and hook toes behind opposite calf; then hold "claws" together at chest level.

Kitten pose: On all fours, arch back like a cat with head down toward the chest and spine pointing toward the ceiling (alternate with calf pose).

Calf pose: Arch back in opposite direction as kitten, bringing head upward, looking up at the ceiling and taking a deep breath while sagging back inward like a cow.

But this yoga class is anything but usual.
