Pacific Retirement Services Inc., parent company of Rogue Valley Manor, has named Allen J. Douma and Lynn C. Johnson to its boards.

Douma will serve on the board of Rogue Valley Manor Community Housing, PRS's affordable senior housing division. He lives in Ashland and has been a health communications developer, writer and consultant since 1999. He sits on the board of AARP, where he serves on the Audit and Finance Committee and the National Policy Council. He is a consultant to national AARP's State Advocacy Department and helped develop AARP's "Wise Use of Drugs" campaign and Web site. His column, "Ask the Family Doctor," was syndicated and published for eight years.

Douma began his career as a physician and hospital manager in rural North Dakota, became an emergency room doctor and moved successfully into the business sector. He has served as assistant director of the Oregon Department of Human Services, chief executive officer of Health ResponseAbility Systems Inc., medical director for The Hartford and the Travelers insurance companies and director of health education for the American Medical Association. He received gubernatorial appointments to Oregon's Health Policy Commission and Health Council, and he was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar.

Douma received a doctorate in medicine from Medical College of Virginia, his bachelor's in engineering science from Johns Hopkins University, and he completed a fellowship in communications and economics at George Washington University.

Johnson is a Portland resident. He helped establish and has been managing director of JGP Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors for more than eight years. Previously, he served Merrill Lynch as a financial adviser for 20 years and he spent eight years in the banking industry at Oregon Bank and United California Bank. Johnson is currently the vice president of development for the board of Boy Scouts of America — Cascade Pacific. He serves on the executive committees of the Providence St. Vincent Medical Foundation board and the Portland State University Foundation board. He also is on the Investment Committees of the Library Foundation board and the Classroom Law Project.

Johnson earned his bachelor of science degree in economics at United States International University and his master's in public administration at Lewis & Clark College.
