The Josephine County Sheriff's Department is investigating an armed robbery of a Dutch Bros. coffee stand Monday evening in Merlin.
At about 7:30 p.m., a man in his early 20s who wore a ski mask that covered his entire face and a white hooded sweatshirt robbed the stand at gunpoint, the sheriff's department said in a news release today.
A search dog tracked a scent across a field near the stand to a parking lot of a neighboring business, investigators said. The trail stopped abruptly, leading deputies to believe a vehicle likely was parked there and the suspect got in it and drove away. No vehicle associated with the robber has been identified yet.
The investigation is continuing. Investigators ask anyone with information about this case to call 474-5151.
