A car crashed into a power pole in front of the Williams Country Store at 120 East Fork Road Tuesday night, knocking out electrical service to more than 900 customers.
The power was out all night, and Williams Elementary School is closed today because of the outage.
A 44-year-old Williams woman drove into the pole just before 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, the Josephine County Sheriff's Department reported. The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to Three Rivers Community Hospital. Sheriff department records showed that she hadn't been cited for the single-vehicle crash.
Pacific Power crews rerouted electricity to restore power in an hour to about a third of the 918 customers left in the dark by the crash. The pole was replaced and service restored to the rest by 9:12 a.m. today.
Officials at Three Rivers Community School District canceled classes at Williams Elementary when the school had no electricity this morning.
