Nearly 40 percent of voters in Ashland and Rogue River had cast ballots as of noon today in Tuesday's election.
Ashland voters are being asked whether they want to renew the city's 5 percent sales tax on prepared food and drinks, while voters in Rogue River will decide whether to continue a fire department levy.
The deadline to vote is 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Elections Deputy Donna Conner said this afternoon that 38.7 percent of voters in the two cities had cast ballots by noon today.
Ballots still can be taken to the Elections Department at 1101 W. Main St., Suite 201, Medford, or dropped in ballot boxes behind the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd., or Rogue River City Hall, 133 Broadway St. All of the boxes will close at 8 p.m. Tuesday. It is too late to mail ballots.
