Jeff Golden will discuss "What Never Was and Never Will Be: Can Our Media Serve Our Democracy?" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the Shady Cove Branch Library Community Meeting Room, 22477 Highway 62.
Golden, a radio talk show host, commentator, public broadcasting producer, columnist and author, was Oregon's first nominee for the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award.
The talk is the first of three programs to be hosted by the Shady Cove Branch Library this winter as part of "The Conversation Project: A New Chautauqua."
The statewide program, sponsored by Oregon Humanities, hopes to engage community members in thoughtful conversations about ideas and issues.
