Britt announces classical lineup

Music from Rachmaninoff to Rodrigo, guest artists, a recital by the Arianna String Quartet and performances by Britt Institute students are planned as part of the Britt Festivals 2010 classical festival, the organization announced today.

Tickets go on sale Jan. 11 for the 48th season, planned for Aug. 6-22 on the Britt hill in Jacksonville. Tickets run $23-$35 for most concerts. The top-priced is an Aug. 14 performance by pianist Emanuel Ax. Tickets for the series' annual family concert, Aug. 21 this year, will be $5 for children and $20 for adults.

Ninety musicians from across the country make up the Britt Festival Orchestra conducted by Peter Bay. Bay will be in his 18th season as music director and conductor this year.
