State Schools Superintendent Susan Castillo released the latest batch of report cards for Oregon schools, with 95 percent of them getting rated as "satisfactory" or "outstanding."
The other 5 percent were deemed in need of improvement.
That group of 61 schools includes Armadillo Technical Institute, a charter school in the Phoenix-Talent district; Crater Academy of Natural Sciences at Crater High School in Central Point; and Eagle Point High School.
The only consequence a school faces for its poor 2008-2009 rating is that a copy of the report card will be sent home to parents.
Under federal ratings, schools that serve a large percentage of low-income students must offer their students transfers or tutoring if they consistently fail to meet performance targets.
