SOU enrollment at 5,104 for fall term
Highest since 2004; school sets new high in minority students
Southern Oregon University has reported its highest fall term student enrollment since 2004. The university has also reached a new high in minority enrollment.
Total enrollment was 5,104, a four-tenths of a percent increase over fall 2008. Minority student enrollment was listed at 12.7 percent.
Other highlights in the report released this week included:
- Full-time equivalent enrollment is at 3,931, 2.1 percent above fall 2008, and the highest fall-term level since 2004.
- The largest new graduate class in SOU's history and the first time SOU has ever exceeded 300 new graduate students.
- California student enrollment is up 21 percent over last fall. For the first time, SOU enrollment exceeded 500 Californians.
- Enrollment at the SOU/RCC Higher Education Center in Medford is up 4.4 percent over fall 2008, with 825 students at the HEC.
