Southern Oregon can expect damp days and nights throughout the week as a series of storms roll into the Northwest.
Today's storm came on land in northern Oregon and dropped more than 3 inches of rain in Astoria. Wind gusts exceeding 80 mph battered the coast as far south as Waldport. Medford missed most the heaviest rain, and had received just .09 inches at the airport just before noon. Grants Pass had .39 inches, while Bandon was drenched with 1.68 inches.
Snow fell overnight in the Siskiyous, but the Mount Ashland ski area still had just 6 inches on the ground early today. Forecasters said 4 to 8 inches of new snow could fall today on the ski area. Wet pavement was reported on Interstate 5 on both sides of the Siskiyou Summit, but snow levels were expected to drop below pass levels overnight.
