An Ashland woman remained in critical condition at a Medford hospital this morning after being struck late Saturday by a pickup truck in Ashland.
Eileen Brennan, 54, was hit at 10:50 p.m. in the 2500 block of Ashland Street, near Clover Lane, police said. The driver fled the scene in a large red pickup without a canopy, witnesses told police.
Brennan suffered serious injuries in the crash and was rushed to Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, according to police. She remained in intensive care this morning, a hospital spokesman said.
It is unclear what Brennan was doing on Ashland Street when she was struck, said Sgt. Hector Meletich with the Ashland Police Department.
The truck left the scene before police arrived. Witnesses could provide no further descriptions of the vehicle, according to police.
The Jackson County Severe Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team assisted the Ashland Police Department in analyzing the crime scene. The case remains under investigation.
