A man is in police custody this morning after allegedly running over and seriously injuring another man with his car during a fight in Ashland.
Police responded to the altercation at a park near the intersection of Clay and Ashland streets at 9:45 a.m.
It's unclear which man was run over by a car and which one was arrested, Ashland Police Chief Terry Holderness said at 11:30 a.m. Police didn't release either man's name.
Holderness said a woman's husband apprently broke the window of the woman's boyfriend's van during the fight. When police arrived on the scene, they found "a male conscious and breathing with dramatic injuries," Holderness said.
The woman and one of the men fled the scene initially, according to police.
Holderness declined to give further details until the officers on the scene return to the department.
"It was sounding pretty chaotic," he said.
