BLM names new manager

The Bureau of Land Management has named a new district manager in Medford.

Dayne Barron, currently field manager for the agency's Eagle Lake Field Office in Susanville, Calif., will take the post being vacated by Tim Reuwsaat, who is retiring.

The district oversees about 866,000 acres of scattered public lands between the Cascade and Siskiyou mountain ranges and from the Oregon/California border to Canyon Creek and southern Douglas County.

It also employs the largest workforce of any district in the country — some 220 permanent and numerous seasonal employees.
