    Saturday, Oct. 9: Hike to see salmon jumping Rainie Falls on the Rogue on their way back from the ocean. The hike to Rainie Falls is an easy to moderate, 4.5-mile hike through low-elevation forest. Meet at 9 a.m. at Evo's in Ashland or at the Rainie Falls trailhead at the base of the bridge where Grave Creek enters the Rogue at 10:30 a.m.

    Rogue Valley Walkers
    Saturday, Sept. 25: Explore old Medford with the Rogue Valley Walkers. This is a 10K walk, with a 5K optional route available. Meet at Food For Less off Biddle Road at 9 a.m. For more information call 541-326-7583.
    Native Plant Society outings
    Saturday, Sept. 25: Scot Loring will lead a tour of the lichens found along the White Rabbit Trailhead in Ashland. Meet at 9 a.m. behind the Oil Stop on Ashland Street, just west of the BiMart/Shop ‘n' Kart parking lot, or go to the Oredson-Todd trailhead of the White Rabbit Trail.     Sunday, Oct. 17: Wayne Rolle will lead a cross-country hike to McDonald Basin via the Siskiyou Crest and McDonald Peak. There will be some interesting grasslands and hillslope wetlands, as well as Bigleaf sagebrush. Less than four miles round-trip, but no trails. Meet at 9 a.m. behind the Oil Stop on Ashland Street, just west of the BiMart/Shop ‘n' Kart parking lot in Ashland. For more information call Rolle at 541-482-0093.
    Sunday, Oct. 31: Fall fungi hike led by Wayne Rolle, John Teem and John Villella. Destination will be in the Cascades on the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. Exact site to be determined based on how the mushroom season is shaping up at that time. To carpool, meet in visitor parking at the Medford Interagency Office at 3040 Biddle Road, Medford.     Lithia Park walks
    Through, Sept. 29: Free, guided walks in Ashland's Lithia Park, sponsored by the Ashland Parks and Recreation Department. The walks take about 90 minutes. Walks leave at 10 a.m. every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday from the plaza entrance.
