Actress Kim Novak, a resident of rural Jackson County, is undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
Novak's manager says the 77-year-old "Vertigo" actress will receive "minimal" treatment, as the cancer was caught early by a routine mammogram and that she is in "fantastic physical shape."
Novak lives with her veterinarian husband on a riverside Eagle Point ranch where the couple raise llamas and horses. She designed this year's Britt Festivals poster and briefly was in the news locally last year, when she and her husband became entangled in an issue over rocks they'd place on their property to prevent erosion.
Manager Sue Cameron says Novak works out with a trainer three times a week and rides horses daily.
Cameron says Novak is expected to "be just fine."
"The Man With the Golden Arm" star appeared in a string of films in the late 1950s and 1960s.
