  • GRANTS PASS — Author Michael Pink will hold a free seminar on biblical principles and strategies for excelling in sales in Grants Pass on Friday, Dec. 17.
    Pink is the founder of the Rainforest Business Institute, an organization dedicated to helping individuals and companies get more done with less stress while growing profits, eliminating waste and regaining control of their life and time.
    He wrote "Selling Among the Wolves without Joining the Pack!" and "Rainforest Strategy — The Planet's Most Successful Business Model."
    The Southern Oregon C12 Group, a group of Christian chief executive officers and owners, is sponsoring the seminar, titled "Super Natural Selling 2011."
    The seminar runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Guild Hall, on the second floor of the Guild Building at 1867 Williams Highway.

    TALENT — Downtown businesses will host the Talent Art & Music Festival at 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10.
    Tarks Market, Peter VanFleet's Home, Advanced Business Services, Butterfly House, Harmonic Design, The Grotto, Talent Historical Society, Flywheel, Proof, Paradise in Bloom, NicaNelly, Studio One One One, Total Picture, A Colorful Talent, Downtowne Coffeehouse and State Farm Insurance will host artists and musicians at their business sites. The participating businesses will stay open late for the festival fun, organizers said.

    RUCH — For the second year, Fly High Vineyard and LongSword Vineyard are accepting food donations for ACCESS Inc.
    Stop by the wineries' tasting room, give two cans of nonperishable food and receive a free wine tasting, or $1 off a wine purchase. With a case of 12 cans, get a 15 percent discount, plus an extra $12 off. There is a need for tuna, beef stew, soups and cans of fruit.
    The tasting room and shop is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 8555 Highway 238.
