Century Club: Pearl E. Brown

A 100th birthday celebration for Pearl E. Brown of Medford was held Oct. 23, 2010, at the Red Lion Hotel in Medford.

The party was hosted by Pearl's five daughters, Carole (Ned) Plowman of Portland; Doris (Charles) Anderson of Marysville, Ohio; Virginia (Paul Lindahl of Wichita, Kan.; Pat (Arden) Hildebrand of Medford, and Janet (Jerry) Moore, also of Medford.

Pearl Brown was born on Dec. 19, 1910, in St. Joseph, Mo., where she was raised.

She was married in 1929 to Melvin Ward. They moved to Medford, where he passed away in 1982. She later married Carroll E. Brown, now deceased.

Pearl worked as an administrative assistant in timber management for the U.S. Forest Service in Portland before retiring after 13 years of service.

She is living with her daughter, Janet Moore, in Medford.
