Asante Community Health Education is launching a 10-week series of free, heart-health events from Wednesday, Feb. 3, through April 9 called the "Heart and Sole Club."
Each event will feature heart-health experts and physicians from the Rogue Valley Medical Center Heart and Vascular Center.
People attending events in the series will receive a binder with information and heart-health tools, along with free promotional items. Lunch or dinner will be provided at the "Lunch and Learn" and "Dinner and Discussion" presentations.
The series begins Feb. 3 with "Sudden Cardiac Arrest: Not Necessarily Fatal," at Smullin Health Education Center on the RVMC campus in Medford. The talk, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., features Dr. Charles Lick of Allina Medical Transportation and Robert Niskanen of Take Heart America. Open discussion will follow.
Other topics in the series will include "Basics of Training for a Walk/Run," and "Herbal Remedies vs. Prescription Medication: What's Best for Your Heart?"
Registration is required for each class, and space is limited. Call 888-688-4920 or register online at www.asante.org/classes-events.
