Another Harry & David exec leaves

A second senior executive has departed Harry & David Holdings, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing by the company.

Bernard Colpitts, who has been the company's vice president, controller and chief accounting officer since July 2008, left the company on Jan. 28, according to the filing.

The company said Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President Ed Dunlap will handle Colpitts' duties until a successor is named.

Colpitts was director of financial reporting and accounting for Harry & David before succeeding Shannon Bell. Before joining Harry & David, Colpitts was the corporate controller and director of SEC reporting for ON Semiconductor Corp. from 2000 through 2006. He previously worked for Arthur Andersen LLP as a senior auditor.

Earlier in January, former Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer Drew Reifenberger was dismissed by the company and subsequently filed a $375,000 breach of contract suit.
