Edith Y. McGowan, 75, of Medford, Ore., went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Edith was born in Ohio on October 3, 1935, to Ivor Knight and Verda Rudd-Knight. On June 21, 1970, she married Robert P. McGowan.

Edith completed high school and on-the-job training for data entry. She worked for Aero-Space Ford in California until her retirement. She moved to Boise, Idaho, and worked for Aim Corporation and Albertson's. Edith then moved to the Rogue Valley, to be cared for by her daughter, Verda Dennis, and family.

Edith was a cancer survivor and a woman of great courage who enjoyed singing and church activities. She was an avid dog lover and supported the S.P.C.A. Edith performed as "Dippy Grandma, the clown."

She passed away in her sleep, surrounded by her family, son, Andy; daughter, Edith; daughter-in-law, Shari; and dog, Clancy.

Edith is survived by her brother, Norbert; daughters, Verda and Edith; son, Andy; stepchildren, Dennis, Shawn, Mary, Roberta and Doris; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Richard; and sisters, Dorothy and Betty. She will be greatly missed.

A celebration of her life will be held in Boise, Idaho, in June of this year. She is buried with her husband at Logtown Cemetery in Jacksonville, Ore.
