  • Harry & David Holdings Inc. continued to revamp its leadership on Tuesday, announcing two key appointments — Charles Hunsinger as senior vice president and chief information officer, and David Rogalski as vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer.
The Medford-based gourmet food, gift and fruit basket retailer, which Monday said it was aiming for a late-summer exit from Chapter 11 court protection, snapped up Hunsinger from Musician's Friend, where he was executive vice president of information technology. The musical instrument Internet retailing unit of Guitar Center said earlier this month it was moving its corporate headquarters from Chevy Way in Medford to Westlake, Calif.
Hunsinger, 43, has more than two decades experience in large-scale systems consulting and corporate information technology leadership. He will oversee IT applications and infrastructure across Harry & David's operations. At Musician's Friend he implemented a new generation of e-commerce platforms. Previously, he was chief information officer for Corporate Express US, part of the global Corporate Express office products enterprise. While at Corporate Express, he held key roles in creating and implementing transactional and business intelligence systems to support U.S. office products' revenue growth from $1 billion to $3.5 billion and Web commerce growth to $2.5 billion.
In 2006, he was recognized as one of the Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leaders for his achievements there. Before his position with Corporate Express, Hunsinger was a consulting manager with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). Hunsinger is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a degree in electrical engineering.
Rogalski, 41, will oversee the company's accounting and reporting functions. He most recently was vice president and chief financial officer for ecoFridge, a global commercial transport refrigeration systems company headquartered in Indianapolis.
He previously was vice president of finance and corporate controller for Cornerstone Brands Inc. and vice president of finance and corporate controller for Norwood Promotional Products Inc. Earlier in his career, he held financial leadership posts at XeTel Corp. and Travis Boats & Motors Inc. He earned a bachelor's degree from DePaul University and is a certified public accountant.
The company said both men will be based in Medford.
