Rogue River woman killed in motorcycle accident

A Wednesday traffic accident near Bly left a Rogue River woman dead when her motorcycle rear-ended a car and ejected her, Oregon State Police officials said.

Bonnie Joelle Bosgieter, 51, was driving the motorcycle, a 2008 Can Am, eastbound on Highway 140 behind a car and tried to pass a Volkswagen Cabriolet driven by Beatty woman Paula Miller, 35.

Bosgieter struck the car during the attempted pass. She was wearing a helmet, but was pronounced dead at the scene by OSP. Her motorcycle came to rest in the grass along a fence off the highway stretch.

Miller and the two passengers were not injured in the collision.
