  • Harry & David's Country Village will help feed families in need and showcase local gourmet food and wine — while celebrating its partnership with ACCESS and Rotary First Harvest — at its ninth annual Taste of Harry & David to be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 2-4, at the retail store, 1314 Center Drive, Medford.
    Along with high-quality food and award-winning wine, look for live music, cooking classes and the Perfect Pairing Chef Challenge — a food and wine pairing competition featuring chefs from Rogue Valley restaurants.
    Event hours will be 3 to 9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
    Attendees can taste the winners of Harry & David's third annual Wine Competition throughout the three-day event. Wineries from all over Oregon have competed for Harry & David's gold, silver and bronze medals, along with Best of Show, in red, white and sweet categories.
    Vocalist and guitarist Shybo will play tunes inspired by Cat Stevens, Harry Chapin and James Taylor from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
    The band Blue Lightning will perform rock 'n' roll and dance music from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday; 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday; and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
    Local food experts will offer classes ranging from summer Italian fare to desserts and dessert cocktails from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
    The chefs' challenge will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
    Admission is $20, $15 with a donation of five nonperishable food items for ACCESS. Call 541-864-2278.
