Retirement Residence

Rogue Valley Manor

The place on the hill above Medford came out on top again this year as the best place to retire with Readers' Choice voters.

Boasting enough residents and social activities to be deemed its own small town, the 668-acre campus offers a range of facilities to allow residents to "age in place," starting with retirement condos and apartments and ending with assisted living and full-care facilities.

The newest of the series of housing complexes, the Manor Terrace, opened in 2009, adding 120,000 square feet of apartment space, private care suites and a restaurant to the campus along with Southern Oregon's first HydroWorx Therapy Pool.

Director of Marketing Sarah Prewitt says happy residents are the key to success.

"We're constantly looking at our programs and evaluating what we do to make sure that it's the best it can be," Prewitt says.

"We have 1,000 residents who live here that are very involved both in the Medford community and here at our own Rogue Valley Manor community, and their involvement makes such a difference in our success and what we do every day."

With the Manor celebrating a half century this year, Prewitt says, "Fifty years of history definitely enhances the strength of our program."
