  • The fresh, homemade soups, pasta salads and freshly baked bread at Deli Down seem to have won the hearts of readers once again, as they gave the Readers' Choice award to the Medford deli for the seventh time.
The popular eatery, located at 406 E. Main St., has been open for 25 years.
New management took over last year, but manager Shawn Peters says the Deli Down tradition hasn't gone away. Customers still get the tasty pastas and soups, a wide choice of sandwiches and much more.
"Basically we're known for making everything from scratch," Peters says. "We're continuing (that) tradition."
New menu choices will soon be available, featuring what Peters calls "fresher choices" and "lighter fare."
Other favorites: Squeeze Inn and Togo's, both of Medford.
