Bill Meyer has taken over as the favorite voice of Jackson County, and the 50-year-old radio jockey, who has been at KMED 1440 AM since 2001, says he wasn't expecting it.
"I'm really kind of shocked about this," Meyer says. "I'm just tickled pink."
Meyer says he focuses on local issues that affect Jackson County residents, while trying to maintain a personal connection with his listeners.
"We talk about what's important and give folks a voice in the valley," he says.
Meyer's broadcast airs from 6 to 9 a.m. weekdays. Listeners can call the show at 541-770-5633.
