  • Surrounded by loved ones, Marie Elizabeth Coder went to be with the Lord on October 27, 2011. She was born on February 25, 1923, to Charles and Louise Plummer in Lebanon, Ore. Marie lived in the Willamette Valley most of her life and was proud to be second a generation Oregonian.
    She married Jack M. Isaacson in 1939; they had two daughters. The marriage ended in divorce. On March 25, 1964, she married Charles W. Coder, in Cottage Grove, Ore. Together they raised his three young children. She and her husband owned a small grocery store in Veneta, Ore., and upon retirement spent many years traveling with their beloved dog, "Bigfoot," in their 5th wheel.
    She was a wonderful loving wife, mother and grandmother. Marie was a member of the American Legion Aux. Unit #45, and of the Women of the Moose Lodge Chapter #874. She was very patriotic and supported the VFW.
    Marie is survived by her children, Charlotte (Lloyd) VanDoren, of Roseburg, Ore., Delores (Charles) Pickett, of Medford, Ore.; step-children, Charlotte Hubbard, of Upland, Calif., Fred (Kelly) Coder, of Springfield, Ore., Albert (Janice) Coder, of Medford, Ore., Anna Coder, of Santa Clara, Calif.; brother, Charles (Edith) Plummer, of Cottage Grove, Ore.; sister, Esther Gatewood, of Moses Lake, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Coder; her parents, Charles Plummer and Louise Stuart; brothers, Arvid Stuart and Jack and Jimmie Ross.
    A memorial service will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery, November 3, 2011, at 1:00 p.m.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Aux., Unit #45, Lapine, OR 97739.
