Wild Bird Photo Contest update

One week to go in this year's contest
Jeffrey McFarland of Ashland entered this photo of a male Bullock's oriole for this year’s Wild Bird Photo Contest. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9.

The 2011 Oregon Outdoors Wild Bird Photo Contest is heading into its final week, and as of Thursday, 117 photos had been uploaded to our contest website at www.mailtribune.com/birdcontest.

To enter, go to the website, fill out a registration form and follow the directions to upload your photos. You can enter up to three pictures.

Grand prize is a pair of Pro Master Binoculars, EL 10 x 42, valued at $299, from Total Camera and Video, 1310 A Center Drive, Medford.

First place is a pair of Eagle Optics Denali 8 x 42 Roof Prism Binoculars, valued at $229, from Wild Birds Unlimited, 712 Crater Lake Ave., Medford.

Second place is a $100 gift certificate from Grange Co-op.

Third place receives a pair of Bushnell 8 x 42 binoculars, valued at $79, from Black Bird Shopping Center, 1810 W. Main St., Medford.

Fourth place takes home a Patriot bird feeder and 20-pound bag of bird seed, valued at $36, from Black Bird Shopping Center.

Entries must be received by 5 p.m., Friday, Dec. 9.
