  • PHOENIX — The Eagle Point wrestling team won the seven-team Adam Bradfield Memorial Tournament at Phoenix High on Friday, finishing ahead of runner-up Crater and the host Pirates, who were third.

  • PHOENIX — The Eagle Point wrestling team won the seven-team Adam Bradfield Memorial Tournament at Phoenix High on Friday, finishing ahead of runner-up Crater and the host Pirates, who were third.
    For the Eagles, Aaron Lorenz (126 pounds), Travis Woods (152), Johnny Wilkerson (182), Alejandro Valle-Romero (220) and Manny Valdovinos (285) all went 5-0.
    For Phoenix, Richard Orndorff (106), Kyle Bradfield (145) and Eleazer De Luca (152) each finished 5-0.
    Crater's Anthony Peck (120) and Chase Mackey (170) were 5-0.
    Phoenix's Riley Dodd was 4-1 at 138 pounds and helped stage the tournament as his senior project. The tourney honored Bradfield, a 2008 graduate of Phoenix High who passed away in June after fighting cancer.
    CRATER 8, KLAMATH FALLS 1 — Daniel Gomez scored five goals and his brother Dustin Gomez netted the other three goals to lead Crater to its second straight win over Klamath Falls in Southern League play.
    Thomas Gamble, J.R. Keyser and Jacob Asbeck each had two assists and Ali Havice added another for the Comets (2-0), while Alec Looman made nine saves in goal.
