  • ROGUE RIVER — The Rogue River girls basketball team struggled to score in the third quarter, but Alli Ehrhardt and the Chieftains came out of halftime blazing, taking control for a 50-45 triumph over Yreka, Calif., on Monday
    The Chieftains (4-1), who had played three games in four days, mustered just three points in the second quarter and fell behind, 24-19, at halftime.
    Ehrhardt poured in 15 of her 24 points in the second half, and Emily Roldan stepped up to contribute nine of her 11. Rogue River outscored Yreka 19-9 in the third.
    Ehrhardt added six rebounds and Emma Angeletti registered nine points and six boards for the Chieftains.

    NORTH VALLEY 52, CASCADE CHRISTIAN 49 — At Merlin, North Valley's balanced scoring attack and clutch contributions down the stretch helped it pull away.
    Kenzie Schmoll and Ally Gronholm both scored 11 points for the Knights (3-3), but it was Gronholm who knocked down a pair of free throwns with 10 seconds left to hold off the Challengers (1-4).
    The Challengers were led by Sydney Hunt's 19 points. Her 3-pointer cut North Valley's six-point lead in half with three minutes remaining, but Knights freshman Mikala Mohr countered with a pair of free-throw line jumpers. Mohr scored all six of her points in the frame.
    Schmoll also had five assists for the Knights, and Karissa D'Arpino added 10 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Alexis Scott registered seven points, eight rebounds and four steals.
