WILSONVILLE — The Crater boys basketball team and the North Medford and Ashland girls basketball teams recorded the highest team GPAs among squads in their classifications, the Oregon School Activities Association and the Dairy Farmers of Oregon recently announced.
Several other local teams were also honored with Dairy Farmers of Oregon Academic All-State winter awards.
In boys basketball, Crater finished highest among 6A schools with a 3.71 GPA and North Medford was fourth (3.55).
Ashland was 10th (3.38) in 5A, Phoenix third (3.65) in 4A and, in 3A, St. Mary's was fifth (3.60), Rogue River seventh (3.47) and Cascade Christian ninth (3.42).
In girls basketball, North Medford led the 6A schools (3.69), South Medford was tied for sixth (3.59) and Crater tied for 10th (3.56). Ashland was first in 5A (3.80) and St. Mary's tied for fifth (3.65) in 3A.
In boys swimming, South Medford was third among 6A teams (3.63), Ashland tied for ninth in 5A (3.40) and Cascade Christian seventh in 4A/3A/2A/1A (3.54).
In girls swimming, Ashland was eighth (3.63) in 5A and Phoenix tied for fourth in 4A/3A/2A/1A (3.74).
In wrestling, South Medford was tied for second at the 6A level (3.30), Ashland was fifth in 5A (3.29), North Valley third in 4A (3.47) and Rogue River sixth in 3A (3.14).
In cheerleading, North Medford secured fourth among 6A schools (3.52), Eagle Point eighth in 5A (3.35) and Cascade Christian sixth in 3A (3.15).
