  • ALBANY — The North Medford boys golf team missed first place by a whisker at the West Albany Invitational on Saturday at Spring Hill Country Club.
    Joey Walker and Brandon Galante posted two of the top five scores for the balanced Black Tornado, which shot 332, but West Albany got the edge with a 331.
    West Albany's Connor Kumpala was medalist with a 4-over-par 76.
    Walker shot a 79 and Galante an 82, the fourth- and fifth-lowest rounds, respectfully. Brad Olson shot an 88.
    TEAM SCORES — West Albany 331, North Medford 332, Sunset 344, Cleveland 376, McNary 377, Central 380, Silverton (incomplete), Reynolds (incomplete).
