  • EAGLE POINT — The St. Mary's boys golf team continued its dominance Thursday at the Rogue River Invitational at Eagle Point Golf Club.
    Playing without top player Dylan Wu, the Crusaders still managed a team scored of 332 for top honors in the nine-team event.
    Tom Thorndike led St. Mary's with a 6-over-par 78, tying for third place.
    Rogue River's Kevin Murphy shot 71 to take medalist honors, and the Chieftains were second at 338.
    North Valley's Ryan Melnychuk was second at 76. Thorndike tied Cascade Christian's Micah Radcliff for third place.

    GRANTS PASS 5, EUREKA 4, 10 inn. — At Grants Pass, Josh Robinson's run-scoring single in the 10th inning completed a three-run rally for Grants Pass.
    With one out, Robinson plated Chace VanEss with a hit to left field.
    Trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the seventh, the Cavemen knotted the score with Robinson's help. He reached base on a single, and he and Cameron Mathews scored on errant throw from Eureka's catcher to first base.
    Robinson was 3-for-4 and Tyler Bennett 2-for-5 with an RBI for GP.

    ST. MARY'S 6, DAYS CREEK 2 — At Days Creek, junior right-hander Jacob Wall shut down Days Creek to give St. Mary's its first victory.
    Wall went all seven innings, needing just 82 pitches. He allowed two runs — one earned — on four hits and walked none. He struck out seven.
    Duncan O'Boyle's two-run single in the top of the fourth put St. Mary's (1-2) up for good with a 3-1 lead.
    Ryan Ross and Jacob Smith both had two hits, an RBI and scored a run for the Crusaders. Catcher Daniel Seus stole four bases for the Crusaders, who pilfered seven in the game.

    Chelsea Wiley had a two-run double in the fifth inning for the Knights (5-6), who scored four runs in the frame. They committed four errors in the contest.
    The Knights' Mikala Mohr went 2-for-4.
