The chance to trade exercise clothes and gear for new ones gives customers and readers of Oregon Healthy Living another reason to love the Yoga Swap Shop at Ashland's Inward Bound Wellness.
Co-owner Celina Reppond Dominguez opened the store in 2009's faltering economy to appeal to customers with tighter clothing budgets and environmental ethics.
"I know everybody's interested in the idea of recycled and reused clothing," says Reppond Dominguez.
Consignment items, which initially made up a quarter of the inventory, has expanded to about half, she says. Most items are priced between $10 and $20, and all are gently used.
"People pay good money for some of those yoga pants," says Reppond Dominguez, who also stocks second-hand yoga and Pilates gear, books on exercise and spirituality and meditation candles.
Consignors receive half of their items' Swap Shop selling price, 60 percent if credited toward classes, services or other merchandise at Inward Bound, 611 Siskiyou Blvd., Suite 10.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. See inwardboundwellness.com.
