  • Celina Reppond Dominguez teaches yoga at Inward Bound Wellness in Ashland, next to Safeway on Siskiyou Boulevard, and it's open to the community. She also teaches Integrative Recovery Therapy for those coming back from addiction or drunken-driving citations.
Her specialty is kundalini yoga, which incorporates a lot of breath work and movement and focuses on the brain and glands and "inner investigation — not just alignment but self-inquiry and where you're at today," she says.
"You cultivate skills to put you in a neutral mindset each day. ... They're amped when they walk out of here and are ready to resist addiction."
Kundalini yoga is different than regular hatha yoga in that it strengthens the immune and nervous systems, and "you resist outside forces of stress and disease," she says.
She leads a community class at 5:30 p.m. Mondays that focuses on detoxing the organs and strengthening immunity.
"A lot of students are shocked at how much they enjoy yoga, how it lowers stress and they want to continue," says Dominguez, who came here from New York City five years ago to raise children.
