Richard and Deborah Linn of Medford celebrated their 70th anniversary with an open-house reception hosted by their son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Kathleen Linn of Shady Cove, Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Veranda Park. Approximately 40 people attended the reception.
Richard Linn married Deborah Norman May 9, 1942, in Bellefontaine, Ohio. They have one son; two grandchildren, Kyle of Alaska and Sarah of Seattle; four great-grandchildren, Jayme, Aeron, Joshua and Austin; and one great-great-grandchild, Anthony.
The Linns have lived in Veranda Park Retirement Community since their move to Medford in January 2008. They lived for 47 years in Lancaster, Calif., arriving there in 1961 while Richard served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a military officer and pilot for 26 years.
He was stationed in Alaska in the late '40s, Japan in the early '50s and had numerous other assignments before coming to Edwards Air Force Base in Southern California, where he retired in 1966.
He then worked in the aerospace industry for a number of years before retirement.
They were active in their church and their country club, where they both golfed. Richard enjoyed fishing while Deborah played bridge well into their 80s.
They moved to the Rogue Valley to be near their only son and daughter-in-law.
