WILSONVILLE — The North Medford boys track and field team, Crater softball squad, Ashland boys golf team and Ashland girls tennis squad had the highest team GPAs among schools in their classifications, the Oregon School Activities Association and the Dairy Farmers of Oregon announced.
Several other local squads were also honored with Dairy Farmers of Oregon Academic All-State spring awards.
In softball, Crater was tops among 6A programs with its 3.70 GPA. North Medford finished tied for 10th (3.55). In 5A, Ashland was tied for sixth (3.58). In 4A, North Valley was tied for second (3.78) and Phoenix fourth (3.76). In 3A, Cascade Christian tied for 10th (3.45).
In boys golf, Ashland ranked first among 5A schools with a 3.83 GPA. At the 3A/2A/1A level, Cascade Christian was tied for third (3.54) and St. Mary's was fifth (3.49).
In girls golf, North Medford placed second (3.87) in 6A, while St. Mary's was seventh (3.61) in 4A/3A/2A/1A.
In boys track and field, North Medford finished highest among 6A schools with a 3.64 GPA. Ashland was fourth (3.51) among 5A schools, North Valley tied for fifth in 4A (3.48) and in 3A, St. Mary's was sixth (3.51) and Rogue River eighth (3.40).
In girls track and field, South Medford was third in 6A with a 3.79 GPA, and North Medford came in fourth (3.72). St. Mary's was third in 3A (3.78).
In baseball, Ashland came in fifth in 5A (3.59), North Valley fourth in 4A (3.53) and St. Mary's sixth (3.51) and Cascade Christian tied for ninth (3.39) in 3A.
In boys tennis, Cascade Christian ranked third (3.76) and St. Mary's tied for fifth (3.65) in 4A/3A/2A/1A. On the girls side, Ashland tied for first among 5A schools with a 3.88 GPA. At the 4A/3A/2A/1A level, St. Mary's tied for third (3.86)
In band, North Medford was tied for eighth among 6A schools (3.49) and Ashland eighth in 5A (3.51).
In choir, North Medford finished ninth in 6A (3.39), Ashland ninth in 5A (3.32), North Valley third in 4A (3.52) and St. Mary's third in 3A/2A/1A (3.65).
In orchestra, North Medford was eighth in 6A (3.49) and St. Mary's second (3.87) and Ashland fourth (3.80) among 5A/4A/3A/2A/1A schools.
In speech, Ashland was fifth overall (3.74).
