Tour views 7 gardens from east Medford to Eagle Point

The annual event is a fundraiser for Soroptimist International's North Valley Chapter

Soroptimist International's North Valley Chapter will host its 10th annual garden tour from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9. Participants can visit seven gardens from Eagle Point to east Medford.

Tickets and maps for the self-guided tour will be available at Roxy Ann Winery, 3285 Hillcrest Road, Medford, or Agate Ridge Vineyard, 1098 Nick Young Road, Eagle Point. Tickets cost $15. Raffle tickets for prizes from local companies will be available for sale at either winery.

The tour is the organization's major fundraiser for the year, and proceeds directly benefit women, girls and their families in the region.

Gardens featured on the tour will include:

  • Dunbar Farm, a fourth-generation family farm within the city limits of Medford. It was founded by brothers Leonard and Alfred Carpenter in 1909, who planted the original 60 acres of pears using draft horses.
  • An east Medford, rustic-style home with a front rock garden, front fountain, backyard water features and an aspen grove.
  • An east Medford garden featuring computer-controlled, backyard model trains.
  • An east Medford artist's garden featuring summertime flowers and an oval driveway that leads into a garden with an eclectic mix of vegetables, flowers and garden features.
  • An Eagle Point property featuring a lavender garden and natural water features, a vegetable garden and landscaping designed to attract birds.
  • A lush Eagle Point garden near the golf course featuring three waterfalls and a pond.

The starting or stopping point of the garden tour will be Agate Ridge Vineyard, where participants will be able to explore the vineyard and vegetable garden.
