The Mail Tribune and Ashland Daily Tidings are hosting a video contest in honor of William Shakespeare. Shakespeare Scenes calls for creative video tributes to the Bard. Videos can be up to five minutes long.
Act out your favorite scene from one of Shakespeare's plays, reinterpret a scene with modern language, or write your own scene in Shakespeare-style language.
Enter your video at www.dailytidings.com/shakespearescenes or www.mailtribune.com/shakespearescenes. Viewers also can head to the page, watch the entries and vote on their favorites. The contest runs until 5 p.m. August 17.
The site will be closed to submissions afterward. Voting will run until 5 p.m. Aug. 24.
Judges will be looking for originality, technical skill, acting quality and overall production value. Videos with inappropriate content such as nudity or over-the-top language and violence will not be accepted. Avoid copyrighted music or characters.
There will be prizes for first-, second- and third-place entries, and an additional prize for People's Choice. Winners will be announced in the Aug. 28 editions of the Mail Tribune and Daily Tidings.
