  • Roy and Reta Carney of Eagle Point celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 9, 2012, with a family dinner reception hosted by their granddaughter, Loris Fenner.
    The couple's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren attended the reception.
    Roy Carney married Reta Loghry June 9, 1962, in Vancouver, Wash.
    They have two children, Lois Myers of Eagle Point and Lester Carney of West Hills, Calif., five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild due in July.
    Roy and Reta moved to Southern Oregon to retire and be closer to their family.
    They had previously lived in Sedro-Woolley, Wash., and the Everett, Wash., area where Roy worked as a broker for life insurance and mutual funds. Reta retired from being a career restaurant manager.
    They are active at the New Beginnings Church of Central Point. In their free time, they enjoy yard sales and playing with their dogs, Lady, Frisky and Sparky.
