Sam and Charlyn Adams of Medford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 3, 2012, at a lunch reception at the Space Needle Restaurant in Seattle with 12 people in attendance.

The couple chose the Space Needle as a venue because one of the couple's honeymoon stops was the 1962 World's Fair in Seattle.

Sam Adams married Charlyn Troeger June 2, 1962, in San Diego. They have two children, Brian Adams of Beaverton and Nancy Knot of Lake Oswego, and six grandchildren.

Sam and Charlyn moved to Medford in 1977, after Sam took the position of regional sales manager for Williams' Bakery. He retired from the bakery 21 years later.

Sam was a member of Rotary Club. Charlyn served for five years as chairwoman of American Red Cross volunteers for blood drives for five years and was on the Ascension Lutheran Church Council. She also is a longtime member of Welcome Wagon social groups.

The couple have been members of the Star Promenaders Square Dance Club for 30 years and have volunteered for RSVP for many years.

Traveling is their hobby since Sam's retirement in 1998.
