  • Twenty-seven local artists, who participate in the weekly Artists' Workshop, will display their works at the 28th annual show and sale, opening Friday, Aug. 3, at the Jacksonville Art Presence Art Center in the historic Jackson County jail, 216 N. Fifth St., Jacksonville.
    The exhibit will be displayed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Aug. 26. There will be a reception from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the gallery.
    New this year, Ashland artist Ausma Nonacs will display "Swift Stream," an acrylic painting of Lithia Park in the fall, and Medford artist Deanna St. Martin will display her figurative watercolor painting "Daydreamin' ". Award-winning Central Point artist Marilyn Hurst will return this year with her nostalgic pastel and watercolor landscapes.
    The workshop, which has about 54 members, meets at various locations around the Rogue Valley in fair weather and at the Talent library in bad weather.
